You are bidding on a Tandberg model 3001A Programmable FM Tuner. These tuners are legendary and highly sought-after, considered by many to be the finest FM tuners ever made. I have recently gone over this unit and replaced the preset buttons, dial lamps, and the preset battery (both all-too-common failures on these tuners). I have also replaced (and cleaned up after) a few original leaky capacitors with new audio-grade capacitors. Everything is in correct working order -- the presets work and it does a great job pulling in stations even with the wimpy indoor antenna I've got it hooked up to. This auction also includes a brand new power cable, so you don't have to go hunting for the oddball cable this thing requires. Please note that this particular example is a bit rough on the outside -- a fact I've attempted to make clear in the photos. The top of the chassis has a few large scratches on it, and there are a few tiny marks on the face, but nothing major. Considering that you'll probably end up putting other audio components on top of this tuner, the scratches on the top side may not be a big deal. This item will be carefully packed to guarantee that no damage occurs during shipping.
